“Jerusalem, Jerusalem! She who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her. How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, yet you were not willing!
It is willingness that moves one into the saving arms of Christ. He is standing, waiting, inviting. We are called to willingly submit ourselves to Him for his eternal protection: the saving of our lives. The word itself speaks of our free will. Our ability to choose.
Jesus seeks willing souls – those who will choose to come under His reign. He is willing to receive those who are willing to come.
He will not force Himself on anyone nor will He coerce and manipulate. Christ stands with His arms out waiting to receive the willing.
His yoke is easy.
His burden is light.
