Prayer is the ultimate submission of our power to God.
And isn’t our tendency to march around like we are something special when, in many cases, we have no connection with or dedication to either prayer or fasting? Jesus makes it clear that there is a mysterious spiritual connection between the spiritual discipline in our lives and the ability to send the minions of satan out. Our spiritual discipline is closely tied to our ability to stand against our ultimate enemy. I do not understand this phenomenon since the power is solely God’s; however, this incident makes such a truth clear. God’s power is manifest in our prayer and fasting. As we decrease, He increases.
