Foolish Friends – Job 34:33

“Shall He recompense on your terms, because you have rejected it?
For you must choose, and not I;
Therefore declare what you know.

Job has not rejected God’s terms! He has walked faithfully within them. He has been so faithful that Father God has held him up as the example of a faithful servant to the enemy himself. At some level Elihu is speaking truth; however, it is not truth that applies to Job. Sadly enough, in addition to the suffering Job is bearing, he must put up with this ridicule on top of what he has already endured. It is very sad when your so-called friends act like enemies.
