Then He said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do what is good or to do what is evil, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent.
Even silence can convict a person. In saying nothing with their mouths, these religious folks speak volumes about the content of their heart. Does this convict us also?
How often has the name of Jesus not been on our lips?
How often have we failed to ‘acknowledge Him before men‘?
How often have we denied justice and healing to ‘the least of these‘ by simply saying nothing?
It is our words, or sometimes the lack thereof, that reveal our hearts.
Silence isn’t always golden.
