Then He said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do what is good or to do what is evil, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent.
Even silence can convict a person. In saying nothing with their mouths, they speak volumes about the content of their heart. I am afraid this also convicts me.
How often the name of Jesus has not been on my lips?
How often I have failed to ‘acknowledge Him before men‘?
How often I have denied justice and healing to ‘the least of these‘ by simply saying nothing?
It is our words, or sometimes the lack thereof, that reveal our hearts.
Silence isn’t always golden.
