Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
There is a fundamental, foundational motivation that must undergird all that a follower of Christ is and does. “All for the glory of God.” Every single thing we do must be guided by this perspective. Our thoughts, words and actions must be tied to a heart that is intentionally seeking the glory of God. For the one who has been redeemed by Lord Jesus this desire to reflect God’s glory flows supernaturally from a grateful heart.
Father God is over all. Who He is demands our respect. Glory is within Him and flows from Him and we must return it to Him now and forever. As we deflect glory back to God, our hearts are kept humble and our focus stays on Christ. The answer to selfish pride is a heart that seeks the glory of God in all things.
Make it a part of your way and walk to openly give God the glory for every good thing in your life. As you deflect glory to Him, He returns the blessing to you since glorifying Him is the blessing. We need nothing more. “Take delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” He is the Desire of our heart.
