Those who are wise shall shine
Like the brightness of the firmament,
And those who turn many to righteousness
Like the stars forever and ever.
What a promise. What a responsibility. Wisdom and righteousness must be a part of who we are everywhere and always. It seems everything around us works to defeat both of these Biblical virtues in our lives. We are surrounded by those who make the foolishness of this earth sound like wisdom and the wisdom of God sound like foolishness. This is the natural approach. We are also surrounded by those who promote unrighteousness in a flagrant way as if it were righteousness. They literally pursue unrighteousness and applaud others who do the same. It is not unexpected that those who are denying God would do such; yet, the extreme nature of it is surprising and demoralizing.
In spite of it all, we must remain those who are pursuing Wisdom and being graced with God’s wisdom as a result. We must set our faces like flint toward Righteousness that He might continue to grace our lives with righteousness. Lord Jesus set his face firmly toward Jerusalem knowing the suffering He faced and the ultimate joy that would be restored to Him and to the many who would trust Him. His faithfulness as the Wisdom and Righteousness of God saved many.
May my life be characterized by Wisdom (Jesus Christ) and Righteousness (Jesus Christ).
