Subject: The Power Of God

Dear All,

This morning as I prayed and studied I was deeply impressed again with our ever-present need to lean more fully and connect more completely with God’s Holy Spirit. I’ve been reading a work by Francis Schaeffer and he reminded me of the three following points:

1) We (yes, us) have received power from on high. He is God’s Holy Spirit. This isn’t something that was received only by a few at a special moment in history. He is still alive and active within us. He is the dunamis of God. We have received this power!

2) We have received the harvest of the Spirit; i.e. His fruit.

Galatians 5:22 By contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also be guided by the Spirit.

Are you yielding to His Spirit? If you are yielding, this harvest of His work will be clear, absolutely clear in your life. It will be demonstrated to ALL by His power.

3) He is with us FOREVER. The Spirit of the Lord Jesus is with us into eternity. Now that is amazingly good news! He will never leave us nor forsake us.

My dear brothers and sisters, it is high time we started living with His power. Living above our flesh. He makes it possible. This isn’t some pipe dream. It is true and real today. Why do we water down God’s power with lame excuses, whining and misplaced devotion? Why must we pick and complain and flail? We show more strength and power and emotion at an athletic contest in a negative sense (and I mean as FANS) than we do walking in Christ Jesus our Lord in a positive sense. What will it take for us to redirect our allegiance and our focus to the Author of our Lives?

Today, when we hear His voice.

Today, we won’t harden our hearts.

Today, we will live in this choice now

To fall at His feet and believe…

Be believers. Live and walk in your faith by His power. You can do it. He enables you!!!!

Colossians 2:6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, continue to live your lives in him, 7 rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving…11 In him also you were circumcised with a spiritual circumcision, by putting off the body of the flesh in the circumcision of Christ; 12 when you were buried with him in baptism, you were also raised with him through faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead.
