I will show you what someone is like who comes to Me, hears My words, and acts on them: He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. When the flood came, the river crashed against that house and couldn’t shake it, because it was well built.
Submitting oneself to the Lordship of Jesus Christ by putting His words into action, living His teaching, is the number one greatest protection against the trials and disasters we face in this life, in particular our final disaster, our death. To be a disciple implies that we are calling Christ Lord not only with our words, which are of eternal importance, but also with the decisions of life. The disciple acts on the word of Christ. He does what he is taught. He takes action based on the commandment of Lord Jesus. It is a simple truth with promise and protection; yet, it is often difficult to implement. Just because it is simple does not mean it is easy.
Mark 3:35
For whoever does the will of God, he is My brother and sister and mother.”
