Luke 11:27-28
While Jesus was saying these things, one of the women in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bore You and the breasts at which You nursed.” But He said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.”
Jesus is duly unimpressed with physical things and roundly impressed with spiritual obedience. To say something is one thing. To believe something is one thing. Both are made valuable in Jesus sight through doing. Words matter. Deeds confirm our words. Talk is cheap except when accompanied by actions. Faith acts.
‘How many times do I have to tell you?’
God doesn’t want people who simply ‘say’. He wants disciples who ‘do’.
‘Blessed is he who hears my words and puts them into practice.’
