Good Natured Wrongheadedness – Job 8:4

If your sons sinned against Him,
Then He delivered them into the power of their transgression.

But Job’s sons did not die for any sin against God. Bildad is simply wrong. Job’s children were killed by satan’s schemes in order to try to destroy Job’s faith. God made it clear from the beginning that Job was a righteous man who had done nothing to deserve the suffering he would endure. The ills he encountered were all a result of the enemy’s evil desire to destroy Job. God allowed it but not because of anything Job or his family did.

We should be very slow to offer scientific solutions to the apparent injustices that we see. The enemy is a liar and seeks our destruction. He will go to great lengths to mislead us and bring about our end. Satan must love the fact that we often blame God for his work. He has always longed to be like God and often tries to disguise his evil work by masquerading it as God’s work. We are wise to never disrespect Father God by blaming Him for the evil around us. Evil does not come from God. Even when God allows His children to suffer the ravages of our enemy’s actions, it will be worked for their good (Romans 8:28). It is a promise of Scripture and God’s Word always proves true. (Proverbs 30:5).

We see from a limited perspective. God sees from eternity. We are stupider than stupid to misjudge His motives. They are always good and right. His ways are not ours. He has the power over life and death. He can be trusted in all situations.
