Do You Understand? – Job 28:28

“And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom;
And to depart from evil is understanding.’”

All wisdom is contained and accessed in this one truth. Fear God and resist evil. This is the wisdom of God. Jesus Christ epitomized this Wisdom and displayed it when He walked among us. God is the definition of wisdom and thus it is only found in Him. What we do not understand has definition in God. What we cannot fathom only speaks of the Omniscient nature of Father God. In a world and time where knowledge is so highly valued and sought it is ironic that it is still of limited value. Our search must be for wisdom. Our desire must be for a deep, overarching respect for God that informs our every thought, word and deed. Our face must be turned away from evil in every regard for that is where true understanding is found. We value knowledge and it is useful and good; however, it is wisdom and understanding which must be pursued. Knowledge may bring insight but wisdom and understanding bring life eternal. Knowledge is for the day. Wisdom is forever. Knowledge enlightens. Understanding brings life. Seek Life.
