Lashes and wounds purge away evil,
and beatings cleanse the innermost parts.
In a real way, we have been healed by the stripes of The Christ. Lord Jesus was beaten and whipped in His flesh that we might be healed in our heart and soul. He took our punishment so that we might live eternally with Him. He endured physical punishment for our sins that all who believe in the One the Father sent might receive His reward. His lashes, His wounds, His beatings cleansed our innermost parts – our heart and our soul. The proverb writer is prophetic in a profound way.
Isaiah 53:5
But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.
