Rise up; come to our help!
Redeem us for the sake of your steadfast love!
Through all of his complaints, the psalmist never loses sight of Father God’s love. He knows God’s love is eternal and consistent.
He questions God’s management. He is perplexed by God’s seeming absence in this crisis. He feels absolutely rejected by Father God; yet, never does he doubt God’s faithful love as is evidenced by this final verse. This entire Psalm must be understood within the context of Father God’s faithful love.
Our mind may delude us. Our eyes may deceive us. Our emotions will mislead us. God’s faithful love will never leave us. It is the fundamental truth upon which we must build our lives.
‘Even when we are faithless, He remains faithful for He cannot deny Himself.’ 2 Tim 2:13
