Indeed He loves the people.
All Your holy ones are in Your hand,
and they assemble at Your feet.
Each receives Your words.
This truth of God’s love for His people is the fundamental difference between the Judeao-Christian faith and every other known faith system in the world. The One of whom the Bible speaks as Creator and Sustainer truly loves His people. He loves those He has created and inherent within His love is the innate desire to do what is best for the beloved. Thus, every recorded act of Father God can be viewed through this ‘lens of love’ for His creation.
It is no wonder Moses leaves this truth with God’s people as he, Moses, is about to exit. Ithe truth of God’s love is fundamental and defining. Knowing that we are loved covers any misgivings we may have about the actions Father God takes in our lives. We never have room to doubt His motives. His motive is love for His creation. The view of the decisions and actions of an Omniscient, Omnipresent, Omnipotent God from the perspective of a finite, sinful, earthbound person can yield many misunderstandings. We simply cannot see things as He does. His ways are not our ways. The knowledge of His unconditional love for us fully covers any earthbound misunderstanding.
‘The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases.
His mercies never come to an end.
They are new every morning.
Great is Thy faithfulness.
The Lord is my portion says my soul.
Therefore I will hope in Him. ‘
