When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you.
The Holy Spirit is not the center of all Christian theology. Jesus Christ is the center of all Christian theology. He, Jesus, is even the center of the Holy Spirit’s theology. The Holy Spirit seeks to glorify Jesus – always. Those who overemphasize the person of the Holy Spirit must not truly understand the role and purpose of the Holy Spirit. Yes, He is equal in essence to the Father and the Son; however, He lives to bring attention to Jesus Christ and to empower us to live as Christ has commanded. He brings the presence of Lord Jesus into our lives at all times for all time. He indwells us for the purpose of glorifying Jesus Christ through us. What a privilege! What a promise!
