Hope, Grace and Holiness – 1 Peter 1:13

Therefore, with your minds ready for action, be serious and set your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Our hope is to be set on the grace that is coming to us at the return of Lord Jesus. This grace is our hope. The free gift of eternal salvation – life in the unhindered presence of God – is being delivered by Christ Jesus at His return and is to be the focus of our hope. Nothing else truly brings any real hope. Hope is founded in grace and this grace will appear in the form of our Lord Jesus at His return. This Hope motivates us to live obediently. By it we are sacredly set apart in lives that reflect Who Christ is, what He is doing and what He will do. The hope of the grace that will be delivered at the return of Christ motivates us to be holy as the One who has called us is Holy. Hope, grace and holiness are closely related and deeply intertwined.

Amen. Come Lord Jesus.
