“But my people did not listen to my voice;
Israel would not submit to me.
So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts,
to follow their own counsels.”
For those who refuse to listen to God He allows them to reap the consequences of their stubborn deafness. He won’t interfere with their free will. He won’t shove His wise direction down their throats. Those who will not submit to the Father will be given over to the desires of their own evil hearts and all of the corresponding implications. Those who turn a deaf ear to the counsel of God are left only with their own useless counsel and what good is ‘self-counsel’? It’s an oxymoron.
Listen to the counsel of God. He is the wisest Counselor. Be one who reaps the blessings of willingly hearing His Word and submitting not one who bears the consequences of rebellious deafness. He who has ears to hear let him hear.
