“For they all gave out of their surplus, but she out of her poverty has put in everything she possessed — all she had to live on.”
It is hard to imagine giving out of a state of such poverty. I have been given so much that my giving is always out of my abundance, not my poverty. I pray that Father God is happy with the gifts given even from our surplus; however, it is clear that He cherishes the one who, having little to nothing, commits what she has to Him. This one has a spirit of giving that isn’t even available to the one who is rich in this age.
She has given the very money she needs to survive to the One who truly holds her survival in His hands. She is intelligent, committed and faithful using everything she has for the One who provides all. This brings the gift of ultimate value – the commendation of Lord Jesus.
Surely she will hear Lord Jesus say, ‘Well done my good and faithful servant.’ There is no joy that compares to the blessing of Lord Jesus.
