Watershed – 1 Corinthians 15:17

And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins.

All of Christianity and it’s truth hinges upon this one historical event. It is truly the watershed fact of the Christian faith. The victorious life of the follower of Christ flows out of this historically authenticated truth. Without the historical fact of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Christianity is empty and without eternal effect. Without the truth of the resurrection, Christ is no more than a great prophet and teacher who influenced the world for good. This is not what Christ claimed at all. He claimed to be God and proof was ultimately offered through the historical truth of His resurrection from the dead. It is this event that validates all of His claims to divinity.

He is the firstborn from the dead.
The image of the invisible God.
The One through Whom all things in Heaven, on earth and under the earth were created.
He is the fulfillment of prophecy.
The Word of God made flesh.
The Light of God piercing the darkness of this broken, evil place in which we find ourselves.

He is Hope.

History reveals His resurrection and it is the event that changed the course of all eternity.
