In whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
It is not Father God, the Creator of the Universe, who has blinded these unbelievers. It is the ‘god’ of this world that has deceived them and locked them in their sin. Submitting to evil puts one in a precarious situation. It blinds the mind. It clouds one’s understanding. It robs a person of the ability to discern. This is something God clearly and regularly warns against in Scripture, yet, the corrupt one pursues evil and bears the consequences of such in their mind – their identity – the essence of who they are. In this darkness, tragically, they forget who they truly are and cannot see the light of the good news of Jesus Christ.
‘The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not….’
