Sometimes in the face of accusations and threats the best answer is to simply say nothing. As the old cowboy proverb says, ‘Never miss a good opportunity to shut up.’ If only I could learn this truth and allow the Holy Spirit to keep my mouth shut more often. There is great anxiety attached to words we have spoken in the past. There is great peace in knowing that we did not say something we should not have.

Help us to control our tongues Lord Jesus.
