Therefore the Lord is waiting to show you mercy,
and is rising up to show you compassion,
for the Lord is a just God.

God Is Gracious and Just
Therefore the LORD longs to be gracious to you,
And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you.
For the LORD is a God of justice;
How blessed are all those who long for Him.
It does seem that sometimes the waiting is the hardest part. Thank you Tom Petty for expressing our earthly frustration. Amazingly though, to wait on Father God leads to immeasurably more hope and peace than any action we can take on our own. My nature is to act or to speak and yet, sometimes, the best action we can take is to wait. Only Father God can provide the necessities for real life, eternal life – Sovereign mercy and compassion. At the heart of all godly waiting is a deep longing for the presence of God. We wait and we long for God Himself to make things right in the fullness of His mercy and His compassion.
2 Timothy 4:8
Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day —and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
