All Israel heard about the judgment the king had given, and they stood in awe of the king because they saw that God’s wisdom was in him to carry out justice.
When people see that a leader is exercising God’s judgment and carrying out His justice they will stand in awe and follow humbly. Leadership is the problem of our day: empty, phony, selfish, ungodly leadership. People don’t stand in awe of such, they suffer and flounder. Political persuasion means little when a leader is self promoting and unanchored to truth. To state the obvious, people do not respond well to evil leadership.
Raise up a man of God to lead our nation Lord – a man who exercises your judgment and justice.
