Respond – Jonah 3:5
Then the people of Nineveh believed in God; and they called a fast and put on sackcloth from the greatest to the least of them.
Jonah 3:10
When God saw what they did, how they turned from their evil way, God relented of the disaster that he had said he would do to them, and he did not do it.
God makes the offer. We must respond, receive and repent. Our action of turning from wickedness demonstrates our responsiveness to God. He warns and watches to see what we will do in response to His Word. He then rewards those who turn and leaves those who won’t to their own ends. He is eternally just and fair. He gives us the dignity of choosing Him. Considering what He offers; i.e. eternal life in His presence, why would we not?
