Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.
This has to be one of the most difficult passages in the Bible for the follower of Christ to process. We live in a prosperous time and find it natural to love our lives and all of the blessings that Father God has poured upon us. How do we interpret and live this truth that the one who hates his life will keep it for eternity? There is so much good from God about this life to love; yet, our call is to something so much better that it makes this life worth hating.
To hate this earthly life is worth the eternal love we will enjoy in the life to come.
To die with Christ is better than to live without Him.
