He is here:
the One who forms the mountains,
creates the wind,
and reveals His thoughts to man,
the One who makes the dawn out of darkness
and strides on the heights of the earth.
Yahweh, the God of Hosts, is His name.
This is amazing to contemplate – the One who created all things by His Word speaks to us. He formed mountains, creates the wind, makes the dawn from darkness, moves along the highest places as He pleases. This Sovereign One has revealed His very own thoughts to us. It is almost unthinkably good. Through the ages His Revelation has endured. He longs to bring Truth for life to His children. He longs to speak into our lives for His glory and our eternal benefit. How can one judge this God harshly? Why do we so often insist on focusing on what we cannot understand rather than rejoicing in what is unmistakably clear?
This is clear: The God of the Universe has revealed His very own thoughts to us. We are wise to protect, revere and live them. His thoughts have been articulated to His creation. They are our only hope for life.
