“Disregarding the command of God, you keep the tradition of men. He also said to them, “You completely invalidate God’s command in order to maintain your tradition!”
Father God knows the motives of our heart and what truly matters to us. Empty traditions are ‘worse than worthless’ when the heart that is bent toward evil. They can even inadvertently contribute to the corruption of a person since it becomes natural to replace the life giving, protecting command of God with an empty, useless commandment of man. Thus, what was meant for good ends up bringing ruin. What was designed to draw us nearer to Jesus ends up isolating our hearts from His penetrating, heart changing touch. What was meant to bring good to others in the Name of Father God results in self aggrandizement and empty pride.
Hold traditions loosely. Hold Lord Jesus tightly.
