He called you to this through our gospel, so that you might obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
It is still much more than I can understand; yet, the promise is repeated and confirmed in many other places in Scripture. We will obtain the glory of Jesus Christ Himself. When He who is our life is revealed we also will be revealed with Him in glory (Colossians 3:4) – His glory. It is unimaginable. This glory that will wipe out the forces of evil at His coming. This glory that almost wiped out John the Apostle as described in the Revelation. This glory that filled the temple and thus forced the people to leave in fear. This glory that turned Moses face into a sort of fluorescent light so bright people couldn’t even look at him. His glory will be ours. We truly will be given the radiance of the morning star as revealed in Revelation 2. Who can imagine such? Why do we get so weighed down with the stuff of earth? Why do we treat others so poorly and become so bothered by others’ ignorance? We will receive the glory of Jesus Christ! Those we encounter everyday may also be in this same category. Plus, every person we encounter was created in the image of the Glorious One and has the potential to receive this same glory. How dare we treat them with disdain or disrespect? The glorified immortals will reign with Christ.
Help us Holy Spirit to begin preparation for that day by treating others as those who will receive the glory of Christ. Give us the humility and confidence that comes only through the realization of who We are in Lord Jesus. We will boast only in Him.
