But the Lord is faithful; He will strengthen and guard you from the evil one.
O to internalize and take this truth into my inner being, to somehow burn this verse into my heart. If only my committing it to memory would transform me into a strong trusting person. I have walked with Lord Jesus for decades now and still feel the pressure of fear on many occasions. I realize faith does not eliminate fear and is even expressed in the face of it; yet, it seems my fear is growing. Fear should be shrinking and trust should be expanding. Right?
Lord, You are faithful. It is true. Sometimes by my feelings and actions I sense that I am almost faithless. Help my unbelief. Let me know Your strength. Let me see your guidance and be the servant who truly trusts You to protect and guide. Guard me from the enemy who stalks me. Your promises are like a protecting wall surrounding my flimsy, faltering heart.
If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself. 2 Timothy 2:13
You are my Life, My Hope and my Strength. You will strengthen and protect me from the enemy. Have mercy on my soul.
