Give thanks in everything, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Gratitude is critical for all who are walking in Christ. It is rooted in the work of Jesus and clearly demonstrates our faith in and reliance upon Him. To be thankful in every situation is to be Christian. It is a decision, a mindset. The command is all encompassing and circumstance independent since gratitude flows out of the very nature of the recreated one. It is at the foundation of who we are. It is more than an activity. It is a state of being.
Considering that while we were still sinners Jesus Christ saved us, we are thankful and continue to give thanks in every situation. The one who has latched onto this virtue and has integrated it into every aspect of their life is truly joyful. Gratitude flows into joy.
