In that day mankind will cast away
their idols of silver and their idols of gold,
which they made for themselves to worship,
to the moles and to the bats,
to enter the caverns of the rocks
and the clefts of the cliffs,
from before the terror of the Lord,
and from the splendor of his majesty,
when he rises to terrify the earth.
Stop regarding man
in whose nostrils is breath,
for of what account is he?
There is coming a day of terror when God seeks vengeance upon evil and those who have pursued it. It will be a terrifying day when His wrath will be revealed and all evil will be destroyed. It may not be politically correct to talk of such in these days of ‘everything goes’ but it is true. Truth is always true and Father God deals in truth for the benefit of those who would hear it and heed.
As we regard man, we naturally disregard God. How wise is it to regard the created in disregard for the Creator? Who decided this was a good idea? Oh yeah, the created did. It is a bad idea. Political correctness is often a path for denying truth. It’s ironic, isn’t it? In an effort to avoid truth, we call ourselves correct when the actual truth is that we are truly incorrect. It is maddening and unending. Living the politically correct life at the expense of our souls is truly oxymoronic in so many ways.
Open our eyes, Lord, that we may behold wondrous things in your Law. Psa 119:18
Every word of God proves true. Prov. 30:5
His wrath is fierce.
His mercy is great.
His love never fails.
