The Liar – Psalms 63:11

But the king shall rejoice in God;
all who swear by him shall exult,
for the mouths of liars will be stopped.

This is a huge promise for all concerned, both for the liar and for those who speak truth. Deceit and dishonesty will be brought to an end. Thanks be to God – both for the sake of those who are self-deceived and also for those who suffer as a result of others’ lies. God is Truth. He is the antithesis of the lie. He will bring all lying to an end. He will exalt Truth into eternity. Truth brings freedom. Dishonesty fosters slavery and death. The liar’s lips will be silenced. Truth and honesty will reign supreme. That is good news for all who seek and speak truth; yet, for those who lie, it is tragedy.
