Deceptive Personal Attacks – Matthew 9:34

But the Pharisees said, “He casts out demons by the prince of demons.”

The Pharisees cannot address the facts of Jesus compassionate, miraculous actions so they attack His person with lies. What Jesus is doing is clearly the work of God and His claim to be God cannot be reasonably denied. It is senseless to claim that the devil is casting out his own minions who do his bidding. Why would satan cast out those evil entities who were advancing his dark work among men? It makes no sense; yet, logic and facts go out the window when evil men pursue an agenda and their potential for personal loss is great. They seek to deny Jesus’ claims of divinity and destroy Him; thus, truth is irrelevant. Men such as these will even work to discredit those who are openly seeking the welfare of the weakest, sickest and poorest among us. Dishonest personal attacks arise when Truth is triumphing at the expense of one’s agenda.

When inconvenient facts cannot be refuted personal attacks begin. Religious men and skeptics still operate in this manner in regard to Jesus’ life and work. They seek to distort the truth and minimize Jesus. Sadly enough, it is a common practice today. Still others who have an agenda that subjugates people groups at the expense of an ideology do the same. Any who would address such evil are literally attacked and called names much as we did in elementary school. Facts are irrelevant and personal attacks are the preferred method of addressing any logical argument. Motives are questioned. Grand conspiracies are concocted. People’s reputations and lives are destroyed all for the sake of an ideology that cannot stand up to truth.

It is no wonder that Jesus himself said, “You will know the truth and the truth will set you free.”

Deception of any sort for any reason only leaves us trapped and enslaved. Truth releases us and frees us. Always.

Jesus is Truth.
