Worship – Psalms 100

Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth.
Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before Him with joyful singing.
Know that the Lord Himself is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving
And His courts with praise.
Give thanks to Him, bless His name.
For the Lord is good;
His lovingkindness is everlasting
And His faithfulness to all generations.

Worship is about what God desires not what we seek to gain from Him. Fundamentally, worship is about God. It is closely associated with His identity. It is rooted in Who He Is. We shout, serve and sing because we know that He is the omnipotent God of the universe who spoke us into existence so that we might have the opportunity to share in His life. We did not make ourselves and the knowledge of this truth protects us from self-destruction. Gladly we confess that we belong to Him and will walk within His way.

This truth rooted deep in our hearts fosters a whole life response of gratitude and praise. Openly we praise Him. Continually we thank Him. The blessing we have received from His good name, we return to Him by blessing this Name that saves us. It is our privilege. It is our joy!

Father God is Perfect Love and Faithfulness both of which have been poured over onto us. We are loved with an everlasting love; therefore, God has continued His faithfulness to us (Jeremiah 31.3). How can we not worship such a One?
