The Lord said to Moses, “I will also do this thing of which you have spoken; for you have found favor in My sight and I have known you by name.”
It is overwhelming to even consider the relationship Moses and YHWH shared. It is mind-boggling to think that the Lord of all creation would enter into a friendship with one of His children. How does one really get their mind around this idea? How does one respond to the overwhelming nature of such a truth?
He knows us by name.
It is an intimate, personal relationship with the One who is sacredly set apart in His holiness because He has chosen to draw near and befriend us.
Gratitude and deep humility are the only reasonable responses.
“I do not call you servants any longer, because the servant does not know what the master is doing; but I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything that I have heard from my Father.” John 15.15
