I want their hearts to be encouraged and joined together in love, so that they may have all the riches of assured understanding and have the knowledge of God’s mystery — Christ. All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Him.
Once again we see understanding, wisdom and knowledge as key in a relationship with Christ. He is the mystery of God and it is when hearts are encouraged and joined together in love that the good things of Christ are realized. We cannot grasp the depth of the amazing nature of Christ. In Him are hidden ALL of the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. All. This is huge and Paul longs for the Colossians to have an increasing understanding, knowledge and wisdom of Christ for He is the ultimate Truth that brings life. He has transferred us from the world of darkness into the kingdom of light. It is quite telling that Paul ties loving unity to the riches associated with an assured understanding and the knowledge of the mystery of Christ. Our loving relationships in Christ contribute greatly to our wisdom and understanding of Him. No wonder Christ so often encouraged, even commanded us to love one another. The bond of love ushers in the understanding that leads to the knowledge of the Treasure of Wisdom. Soak on that truth. It might just change your life.
